A collection of nude women with light adornments floating through the sky, relaxed and free.

Our Most Here, c.2022

Releasing all of the weight of the world.

Our Most Here features a group of nude Black women with light adornments floating through the sky, relaxed and free. Our Most Here is a love letter to women who have felt burdened by obligation and guilt, feeling unable to live their lives due to the weight of the world put upon their shoulders. This piece envisions a manifestation of peace, liberation, self-actualization, and acceptance.

The foreground includes two women floating in opposite directions to one another; one rises in a pillowy afro and a delicate silver necklace, while another descends, her braids dangling and her silver hoops hanging down from her ears.

In the midground, a woman lays supine with long pearl earrings slowly slipping of their thread. She is unbothered by this, fully embracing the peace of the moment. Across from her are the feet of a woman unseen, crossed in rest. Above her foot is a playful floral anklet.

Lastly, the background contains a woman midtwirl, wrapping herself in a sheer blue pashmina.

Acrylic and oil pastel on gallery-wrapped canvas.
