A woman with bones exposed working at an office job, stressed and overworked.

Lazy Bones, c.2019

Twice as hard to get half as far.

Inspired by my own experiences in toxic office environments, some of which where I was the sole Black employee, “Lazy Bones” is the representation of my frustration feeling like no matter how hard I worked, it would never be good enough. No matter how much the stress was killing me, I was still “lazy”. This piece is for Black women who don’t get the recognition they deserve.

“Lazy Bones” has been created with the use of full-body acrylic paint on an 24” x 36” gallery wrapped canvas. It features a woman with bones exposed working at an office job, stressed and overworked.
