Time to Organize! Quick Art Studio Makeover (video + transcript)

Hi my name is Jasmine and Black Girl Absolute. Today we're just gonna be doing a small sort of studio makeover. I got some stuff from Amazon that I want to put up, and also just reorganizing some of the stuff in here. Let's jump right in.

So as you can see my studio space is not huge, and so while it's cool that there's like a space in here specifically that I can dedicate to, you know, creating new works of art, things like that. The issue is that there's not really much in terms of storage, and that is kind of a problem because I have a lot of stuff. And so in addition to storage, um, one bad thing about this room is that there's only one window and that's the window that's behind me. That window is usually blocked by whatever art piece I'm working on which as you can see with "Roots Here" that it's blocking the window. So I got a table from Amazon it's this tiny like three foot table that I got to put by the window. I also have some shelves that I'm going to put above the window. I'm just going to move some stuff around, try to make it a bit more accessible; especially since you know, we are basically in winter, and I'm gonna need every ounce of sunlight that I can get.

The first thing I'm going to do is to I guess sort of flush out the space. It's a lot easier for me to identify where things can go if I'm working with a blank canvas I guess, pun sort of intended. I'm going to try to get rid of everything that is sort of like an out in the open piece. And then I'll come back once we sort of have like a blank space to work with.

Right, so we have everything moved out now. So this is a space that I want to utilize a little bit more, I'm thinking of putting some shelves that are alternating in height. I only have three shelves that I have to make use of.

And then I also have the table; so I'm going to work on putting those in first.

And then we'll see what the room that's leftover where we can put the easels, some of the shelving materials like the shelves that are on the ground.

I'm really happy with how this turned out! This really looks like a nice little like you know office writing space.

Also just the rest of my room looks a lot better now that things are kind of spread out a little bit.

I'm gonna see if there's any other small studio space organizational techniques that I can utilize in here. Thank you all for watching this, seeing me put my space together once more. But I love you all, you are enough and I hope you take care. Bye!
